Stop The Manga!

What is this about?

StopTheManga.com was created as retaliation against the flood of manga avatars on twitter.com. If you log into twitter with any kind of regularity, or follow any substantial number of people, you may have noticed a terrible trend taking place over the last week or so: "Mangatars." The source of these abominations? FaceYourManga.com. One can only assume the reason this gained traction as quickly as it did is due to one of any number of twitterholics adopting the trend. That combined with special agents like @nehalia creating mangatars for everyone, and this has turned into a real epidemic!

Why?

After finding we weren't the only ones annoyed with this trend, we decided something had to be done. The whole thing started as a joke between myself (@markrebec), @nehalia, @dlprager, @bigepaz, @ronxo and a few others. @nehalia took things a step too far when she coordinated this attack. Obviously something had to be done. @styol was brought in to leverage his photoshop expertise, and StopTheManga.com was born.

To answer what is probably your biggest question right now: Yes, we realize all we're doing is throwing fuel on the fire, and possibly even encouraging some folks to adopt Mangatarianism. The whole thing is a joke, y'know for laughs, so have fun and join in.

Who?

The site was built by @markrebec. @styol used his photoshop abilities to spoof [read: rip-off] a few of the design elements from FaceYourManga.com.

Just say no to Mangatarians!

Here is a list of just a few reasons why you should not adopt Mangatarianism. Contribute your own thoughts and arguments against the trend and they might make their way into this list.

Offenders

The initial list started as simply "why is everyone using these things?" Soon enough, the war was right on our own doorstep as @nehalia began spreading the wickedness of the Mangatar amongst those close to us. The list of offenders open for all to contribute and is growing fast! You can report those you've deemed a "Manga Offender" (they prefer "Mangatarian") and help stop this terrible trend!

Your Arguments

Are you anti-mangatar? Maybe you're a full-fledged Mangatarian? We'd love to know what you think about this whole thing. We're even open to allowing Mangatarians to post, there's no hate here! Leave your thoughts, comments and arguments for both sides here.
